About Marcus

Marcus Berkemeier grew up in rural Indiana but now lives in Los Angeles.  In 2016 he was named a West Hollywood writing scholar by the City of West Hollywood, California and PEN Center USA, as part of PEN’s Emerging Voices program. His short stories have appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Pennsylvania Literary Journal, Adelaide Literary Magazine, Avalon Literary Review, Ink Monkey Magazine, Inwood Indiana, Halcyone Literary Review, and the Bombay Review anthology distributed worldwide.  Another one of his short stories was a long list finalist for the 2022 Able Muse Write Prize for Fiction.  

His first novel - a mystery set in Hollywood - is forthcoming.
